Yucca Valley Town Council.
The desert communities have been complaining to Code Enforcement about Short Term Vacation Rental violations since 2018 with no results. There are even accusations that if you complain they will not issue you permits to build a home.
Off Road vehicles threaten the safety of pedestrians, children, pets, wildlife and habitat. The community needs housing and a park for the youth and locals who enjoy this culture. The community needs more resources for education of fragile desert eco system and a more transparent process in addressing Code Enforcements complaints. This include public signage of regulations and rules of enforcement. The National Park recently posted Tortoise Crossing signs to encourage visitors to slow down and look where they are going.
The town of Yucca Valley is incorporated and has a chance to regulate the new development in. a way to ensure long term growth and prosperity for the current citizens and ones who are joining the community. It is important that as we ramp up the code enforcement staff that Police and Town officials are on the same page of responisibilty.
